2012 Soldier Marathon

Proudly supporting the 2012 Soldier Marathon by providing Sport Massage to the athletes as they complete the 26.2 mile Marathon, the 13.1 mile Half Marathon, or the Relay Marathon at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia on November 10th, 2012.

It was a perfect day for the event and it was a privilege to work with so many excellent volunteers to make the day absolutely fantastic for the race participants!  As one finisher said, “it’s worth it to run 26.2 miles to get a massage at the end!”

In a fluorescent-lit exam room, Col. Rochelle Wasserman sticks ballpoint-size pins in the ears of Sgt. Rick Remalia.

Remalia broke his back, hip and pelvis during a rollover caused by a pair of rocket-propelled grenades in Afghanistan. He still walks with a cane and suffers from mild traumatic brain injury. Pain is an everyday occurrence, which is where the needles come in.
